What these words mean
The terms used on this page, in one sentence each. The full method is on the methodology page.
Conviction score
A single 0 to 100 score for a buy. It blends several signals (unusual size, whether other insiders are clustering in, the buyer's seniority, a first buy after 12 quiet months, how much it grows their stake, drawdown and recent price context) into one 'how strong does this look' number. Open-market buys only, never derivatives.
Proven insider
A badge for insiders whose past open-market buys have a statistically solid, market-beating record: at least 10 matured buys and a conservative (Wilson lower-bound) 63-day win rate of 60% or more. Not one lucky trade. Reserved to natural persons: funds and holding entities are excluded, because their repeated accumulation is structural rather than informative.
Track record (win / hit rate)
Per insider, over their open-market buys (minimum 5): win rate = share of buys with positive forward return; hit rate = share with positive alpha; plus median returns per horizon.
Cluster buy / sell
3 or more distinct insiders trading the same company in the same direction within a 90-day window. Cluster purchases are among the historically strongest insider signals.
Unusual size (z-score)
The transaction's USD value is at least 2 standard deviations above that insider's own trailing history (up to 20 prior same-direction transactions; requires at least 3).
First buy after 12 months
The insider's first open-market purchase after at least 12 months without buying — a re-entry signal.
Signal backtests
Whether each signal actually predicted good performance in the past, measured across many companies with market-adjusted returns (BHAR) and confidence intervals. It includes the signals that did not work, so nothing is cherry-picked.
Frequently asked questions
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. Every filing, every signal, conviction scores, backtests and company financials are free to read, no card required. A free account adds insider track records, 5 AI searches and 50 MCP calls a month, and one alert. Paid plans are for when you want the machine to work for you: more alerts, MCP and API volume, exports.
Is there a free trial?
The free plan is the trial: every signal is free to read, with no card. Paid plans bill from day one, and your first payment is refundable for 14 days: email us and we refund it in full.
How fast do alerts arrive?
One email a day at most, around 08:10 UTC, after the nightly run that computes the signals. For US filings, that is before the next market open.
Can I change plans anytime?
Yes, upgrade, downgrade or cancel whenever you want from your account. Changes are prorated and take effect immediately.
What is a conviction score?
A single 0-100 score for a buy that blends several signals (unusual size, insider clustering, seniority, a first buy after a quiet stretch, stake growth, price context) into one 'how strong does this look' number. Free to read on every buy.
What happens when I hit my monthly AI-search limit?
You keep full access to everything else; only AI search pauses until the start of next month, or you can upgrade to a higher plan for more.
Can I buy more AI searches without upgrading?
Yes. When you hit your monthly cap you can buy a one-off top-up pack of extra AI searches. The credits apply to the current month and are spent before you're blocked again; they don't roll over. No plan change, no recurring charge.
Do you offer team plans?
Yes. Desk includes 3 seats: invite 2 teammates from your account, each with their own Desk access and quotas. Larger teams, higher volumes and procurement go through Institutional, from €1,200/mo. Talk to us to scope it.
